A Typical Day at the Village Nursery Each child takes part in a carefully planned weekly programme of activities an example of which is as follows: FREE PLAY:-To allow children to greet friends and use toys of their choice eg. House Corner, Constructional Toys, Puzzles and Jigsaws, Climbing Frame, Water Play, Sand Play, Drawing, Painting, Playdough, Story Corner etc. QUIET TIME:-Developing listening skills eg. Storytime, free access to books, cassettes, Videos, T.V. ART WORK:-Using various materials eg. Paints, Fingerpainting, Face Painting, Clay, Dough, Glue, Collage, and Topic work SNACK TIME:-Milk/Juice, Fruit, Bread/Crackers or food made by the children MUSIC:-The children sing and play musical instruments together LUNCH:-Parents supply a packed lunch. We can heat soups, pasta etc. OUTSIDE PLAY:-This includes, barrel, bikes, climbing frame, sand, swing, balls, hoops The above is only a brief outline of a typical day. Smaller children can of course sleep at some time during the day and we have camp beds if they so require.We would be pleased to discuss any special needs or skills your child may have. Other activities would include :- Outings, Entertainers for special occassions, visits from people in the community - nurse, dentist, police etc. Our ultimate aim is to help your child to become a more confident and happy person who will leave us to start Primary School having already mastered many various skills. At the Village Nursery we offer thoughtfully planned activities specifically designed to encourage learning through play, therefore giving your child the very best chance to develop happily. |
