Discounts A discount will be given when there are three siblings from the same family attending. Nursery vouchers –what you need to know Childcare vouchers are simply vouchers which parents can use to pay for childcare. Many parents use electronic vouchers, which simply means that they ask their childcare voucher provider to make a payment straight into their nursery’s bank account, rather than receiving a paper voucher through the post. Vouchers can be used for a wide range of childcare, including nurseries, pre-school groups, play-groups, holiday clubs, out-of-school care and childminders. The childcare provider must be registered with the Care Commission. Employers can provide parents with up to £55 a week or £243 a month in childcare vouchers. The vouchers are usually provided through a “salary sacrifice” arrangement, which just means that employees agree to receive the vouchers instead of part of their salary. Unlike their salary they don’t have to pay any tax or national insurance on childcare vouchers. If they take the maximum allowance of childcare vouchers, then each month they get £243 of tax-free vouchers instead of £243 of taxable pay. |
